Lək̓ʔəŋən [LEKWUNGEN] TERRITORY / VICTORIA, B.C. — Harold Steves, former BC NDP MLA, longtime Richmond city councillor, and an architect of the Agricultural Land Reserve system has endorsed Leader of the BC Greens and candidate for Saanich North and the Islands, Emily Lowan.
“I’m impressed with Emily Lowan’s leadership and policies, especially with the Greens’ agricultural policy and firm opposition to LNG expansion,” said Steves. “I hope other NDP supporters and former supporters will join me in getting Emily elected. We need her generation’s energy and commitment to real solutions in our Legislature right now.”
The former NDP MLA’s endorsement comes just days after former NDP MP Svend Robinson also endorsed Lowan, the first time Mr. Robinson has endorsed anyone outside of the NDP in a provincial election.
