VANCOUVER, BC — In tonight’s leader debate, Sonia Furstenau showed that she is the only leader that can bring lasting change to British Columbia.
“While David Eby and John Rustad argued over who was most responsible for creating the problems we face, Sonia demonstrated that the BC Greens have the plan to actually make sure life gets better for people,” said Maureen Balsillie, BC Greens Campaign Director.
“Like David Eby said multiple times ‘Sonia’s right.’ From housing to health care, Sonia showed the depth of her knowledge and the breadth of her solutions. We need her and a stronger team of B.C. Green MLAs in the legislature to push for those solutions.
“She effectively called out David Eby and John Rustad’s failure to address wealth inequality, the climate crisis and their failure to stop wealthy investors from profiting off the housing crisis. Neither of them had an answer.
“John Rustad has embraced conspiracy theories and his lack of grasp on reality makes him incapable of solving the complex problems we face. David Eby has flip-flopped and adopted Rustad’s positions. Only Sonia Furstenau knows what she stands for: a British Columbia where everyone’s basic needs are met, that government functions efficiently and we are building a clean and fair economy full of opportunity for all.”
