Lək̓ʔəŋən [LEKWUNGEN] TERRITORY / VICTORIA, B.C. — For the first time, former NDP Member of Parliament for Burnaby-Douglas and trailblazer for progressive politics, Svend Robinson, endorsed a non-NDP provincial candidate: Emily Lowan, Leader of the BC Greens candidate for Saanich North and the Islands.
“Emily is standing up for the principles and values that I’ve fought for all my life,” said Robinson, “including over 25 years as an NDP member of parliament.”
“Emily is fighting for Indigenous rights, for strong unions, for housing and healthcare as basic human rights, and above all, in this time of existential climate crisis, for a Green New Deal. That’s a vision I’m proud to support”
“Let’s elect Emily and work hard for a new government in which the BC Greens hold the balance of power, to keep the NDP’s feet to the fire in the fight for economic, social, and environmental justice.”
