“You can’t lead people you don’t listen to.”

Arwa Shurab is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC), leadership coach, community organizer, speaker, trainer and North Shore resident. Her work brings together professional experience in immigration and client services with a focus on leadership, inclusion, community engagement and helping people feel heard and represented.

She holds a Master’s degree in Global Leadership from Royal Roads University, with a focus on systems thinking, collaboration and leadership in complex environments. She is also a Certified and Master-Certified Life Coach, with experience in leadership development, public speaking, coaching and community engagement.

Arwa is the founder of HERVOICE, an initiative that supports women through leadership development and community-based learning. She has worked extensively with people navigating complex systems and has supported individuals and communities in understanding processes, accessing resources and finding their way through challenging circumstances. She also serves as a board director with the North Shore Restorative Justice Society.

Through her professional and community work, Arwa has built relationships across communities and worked with organizations on anti-racism, inclusion, belonging and creating more responsive and accessible spaces. Her work is grounded in the belief that people should not have to fight to be heard, understood or treated fairly.

As a mother and North Shore resident, Arwa believes leadership starts with listening. She wants public life to be more accessible, honest and responsive to the people it serves, with a focus on practical solutions, accountability and meaningful community engagement.

Arwa is running for public office to bring her experience in immigration, leadership, community building and inclusion into public service and to help ensure that local voices are heard in the decisions that affect their lives.
