Beatrice Sharpe

Vancouver-Point Grey

“I’m running to be the MLA for Vancouver-Point Grey to represent everyday people in the legislature.”

Beatrice Sharpe (she/her) is a student, climate organizer, youth leader, entrepreneur, artist and author with five years of experience in political and environmental organizing. Her work focuses on affordability, climate action, social and ecological justice and creating opportunities for young people to participate in their communities.

Beatrice is currently studying Political Science and Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria, along with a certificate in Transformative Climate Action. As a full-time student working two jobs, she understands firsthand the pressures that housing costs, groceries and education expenses place on young people and renters.

Her organizing experience includes serving as Chair of the Young BC Greens, where she managed projects across the province ranging from wildfire restoration in Kelowna to public transit advocacy in Victoria. She currently chairs Green Nation Collective Changemakers, which provides financial support and mentorship to young entrepreneurs working to create positive change in their communities.

Beatrice has also worked as Canvass Director with the Ancient Forest Alliance, where she helped raise funds in support of old-growth forest protection. Her broader community involvement includes work with Ocean Wise and the City of Victoria Youth Council, contributing to more than 1,000 hours of community service.

As an artist and writer, Beatrice published A Message from Our Mother, a poetry collection exploring gender inequality, environmental degradation and humanity’s relationship with the natural world. She has also presented at the University of Victoria on Canada’s energy future.

Beatrice is running in Vancouver-Point Grey to bring the concerns of students, renters and young people into public decision-making, with a focus on affordable housing, healthcare, public education, renewable energy, public transit and climate action. She believes leadership requires listening, open discussion and meaningful communication with the people government represents.

Beatrice is a settler living, studying and working on the lands of the Lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees and Xʷsepsəm/Esquimalt) Peoples.
