Daniel Kite
Maple Ridge East“Our province needs bold change for our families to live together in a just and joyful BC.”
Daniel Kite is a public school teacher, union advocate and Maple Ridge resident who has spent the past several years working with students, colleagues and families in his community. He currently teaches Social Studies, English and Student Leadership in School District 42.
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English and Political Science and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto, where he graduated with high distinction. Before returning to Canada, he spent seven years teaching internationally in China, Egypt and Russia, experiences that strengthened his belief in the importance of building connections across cultures and communities.
After moving to Pitt Meadows in 2020, Daniel began working with School District 42. In his first year in the district, he taught with Katzie First Nation before moving into elementary and secondary school settings. He has lived in Maple Ridge since 2023.
Daniel has also been active with the Maple Ridge Teachers’ Association, serving as a staff representative, participating in staff committees and supporting social justice work within the union. He has taken part in British Columbia Teachers’ Federation events and, in 2024, participated in the Teachers Institute on Canadian Parliamentary Democracy.
As a father of a young child with another on the way, Daniel is focused on the long-term future of families in British Columbia. His priorities include affordability, stronger care systems, support for workers and communities and an energy and industrial strategy that considers both people and the environment.
Daniel is running in Maple Ridge East to bring his experience in education, community leadership and advocacy into public service and to work toward long-term solutions for the challenges facing families and communities across the province.
