Jed Wiebe

Salmon Arm-Shuswap

“I’m running because I believe government should serve people – not just the ultra-wealthy.”

Jed Wiebe is a lifelong Shuswap resident, organic farmer and community advocate with a strong focus on sustainable agriculture, local economic resilience and environmental stewardship.

Jed co-owns and operates Elderberry Grove, an organic elderberry farm and small-scale processing business in Salmon Arm. Through his work in agriculture, he has seen firsthand how extreme heat, wildfire smoke and changing environmental conditions affect farms, forests and rural communities.

With a background in sociology and anthropology, as well as experience in the silviculture industry, Jed brings a broad perspective on the social, economic and environmental challenges facing rural British Columbia.

Jed currently represents the agricultural community on the City of Salmon Arm’s Environmental Advisory Committee, where he contributes an agricultural perspective to local environmental and planning discussions.

His community and political involvement also includes helping establish the BC Greens’ Okanagan-Columbia-Shuswap Regional Riding Association, where he serves as Campaign Coordinator. He has also canvassed with Neighbours United in support of the proposed Biodiversity and Ecosystem Health Law and participated in the Vernon Climate Engagement Centre project.

Jed previously ran as the BC Greens candidate in Salmon Arm-Shuswap in the 2024 provincial election. He is running again to advocate for stronger local economies, affordable communities, responsible resource management and a government that listens to the people it serves.

He believes the BC Greens can build a British Columbia where people can afford housing, put food on the table and thrive in healthy communities while protecting the land and natural resources that sustain them.
