Jodi Murphy
Surrey-Guildford“Like so many hard-working British Columbians, I expect better from our government.”
Jodi Murphy is an experienced operations manager, team builder, change manager, and problem-solver who has worked across small, medium, and large organizations in both the public and private sectors. She brings a strong background in leadership, strategic problem-solving, and process improvement, along with a longstanding commitment to fairness, safety, and community involvement.
After spending a decade managing technical services supporting British Columbia’s pulp and paper industry, Jodi worked with several research start-ups in BC’s biotechnology sector. More recently, she started a small business in Surrey while also working in an accounting role for the Province.
Throughout her career, Jodi has often been trusted to provide thoughtful evaluation and sound judgement. She has volunteered as a first aid attendant, served in leadership roles on workplace safety committees, and overseen processes and training related to hazardous materials. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science from UBC, a management diploma, a certificate in accounting, and additional leadership training.
Jodi has also been active in her community and in provincial politics for many years. Following her first BC Green campaign in Surrey-Guildford in 2017, she worked with the Save Hawthorne Park group in Surrey and later contributed to a federal Green campaign in the riding. She returned as a BC Green candidate in 2020 and is now running for a third time to represent Surrey-Guildford in the Legislature.
Her community advocacy has also included representing senior homeowners in a small claims action against a property developer, helping them secure a settlement. A resident of Surrey-Guildford for almost 15 years, Jodi is running because she believes government should do a better job for hard-working British Columbians and that strong representation requires practical experience, determination, and a willingness to take on difficult challenges.
