Melissa Snazell

Melissa Snazell is a healthcare professional, student and community advocate with more than 25 years of experience in healthcare. Her background combines frontline experience in regulated healthcare settings with studies in geography, philosophy and public policy.
Melissa began her career in veterinary healthcare before becoming a Registered Pharmacy Technician. She has worked in both community and hospital pharmacy settings, gaining firsthand experience with the pressures facing healthcare workers, patients and families. Her work has emphasized compassion, accountability, attention to detail and ensuring that systems work for the people who rely on them.
Alongside her healthcare career, Melissa is completing a Bachelor of Arts at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, with a double major in Applied Geography and Philosophy and a minor in Policy Studies. Her studies have focused on climate change, community resilience, environmental policy, land use and the ways government decisions shape communities.
Melissa has also researched and developed municipal policy recommendations focused on strengthening tree protection and environmental stewardship. She serves as the BC Greens’ Fraser Valley Regional Representative, advocating for local communities at the regional and provincial level.
Melissa is grateful to live, work and learn on the traditional and unceded territories of the q̓ʷɑ̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), Máthxwi (Matsqui) and se’mya’me (Semiahmoo) First Nations. Her connection to the community and her interest in the relationship between people, land and public policy have helped shape her commitment to public service.
Melissa is running in Langley-Abbotsford to advocate for stronger healthcare, greater affordability, responsible growth, environmental protection and communities that are better prepared for the challenges ahead. She believes effective representation begins with listening, asking questions and remaining accessible to the people she represents.
