Pat McCutcheon

Surrey-Cloverdale

“For decades traditional political parties have all governed reactively instead of proactively.”

Pat McCutcheon is a retired professional engineer, small-business owner and longtime Cloverdale resident who raised his two sons in the community with his wife. He has seen firsthand how pressures on healthcare, public education, housing affordability and the environment affect local families.

Pat graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Applied Science and went on to build a long career in engineering. In 1995, he founded his own engineering consulting firm, providing services to heavy equipment manufacturers across the Lower Mainland. He operated the business for 28 years.

His professional background has given him experience in problem-solving, long-term planning and working with businesses across the region. Pat is also an active member of the Cloverdale District Chamber of Commerce.

Pat is deeply involved in community service. He volunteers with nonprofit organizations that provide free food, clothing and essential programs to neighbours in need, as well as with organizations focused on addressing climate change.

He joined the BC Greens in 2019, motivated by a belief in evidence-based policy and the need for environmental, economic, social and fiscal sustainability.

Pat is running in Surrey-Cloverdale to advocate for stronger public services, more affordable housing, climate action and a more proactive approach to the challenges facing the community.
