“I’m ready to fight for the changes we need to build an equitable system for all.”

Tanya Webking is Dene and German, with roots in the Tłı̨chǫ Nation in the Northwest Territories. She has spent decades working on the frontlines of housing, healthcare and community support systems in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

Through that work, Tanya has seen firsthand how housing instability, stretched public services and rising costs affect workers, families and vulnerable community members. She is running to bring that frontline experience into provincial decision-making and to help build systems that respond not only to crisis, but to the conditions that create it.

Tanya believes workers are essential to keeping communities and public services functioning and that fair wages, stable housing and strong public services are key to building long-term economic security.

She also believes governments need to work more effectively across jurisdictions and political lines to address complex challenges such as housing, healthcare and affordability.

Tanya is running in Vancouver-Strathcona to bring practical experience, collaboration and a strong commitment to equity into the Legislature and to advocate for systems that work better for the people who rely on them.
